Blogs (or "web logs" to give them their full title) have successfully graduated from latest must-have internet accessories to being near-ubiquitous.
Nowadays, everyone from the BBC's top reporters to local shopping centres regularly use their blogs to post updates about what's going on in their corner of the world, so everyone else can keep up to date should they wish.
